SCHEME ON ‘PARDHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA’

In Series of KIP: Business and Subsidy Update, today we are going to share with you benefit of “SUB-MISSION ON CREATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE FOR AGRO PROCESSING CLUSTERS UNDER PARDHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA SCHEME)”
Objectives:
To Create modern infrastructure for food processing closure to production area. To provide integrated and complete preservation infrastructure facilities from farm gate to consumer. To create effective forward & backward linkages by linking groups of farmers/ producers to food processers and markets through well-equipped supply chain.
Assistance:
Sub-Mission on Creation of infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters :
35% capital subsidy in general area and 50% in difficulties area as well as project of SC/ST, FPOs and SHGs up to Rs.10 Crore in three equal instalments. Subsidy is credit linked but not back-ended.
Eligible Entities:
In Sub Scheme of Creation of infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters assistance can be avail by an entity/organization such as Govt. PSU/ Joint Ventures/ NGO/ Cooperates / Self Help Groups SHGs / Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) / Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs)/ Private Sector Companies / Partnership Firms / Proprietorship Firms etc.
Eligibility:
The Entities shall be considered Eligible for availing benefit under the Scheme if fulfils either of the following criteria:
- At least 5 food processing units with a minimum investment of Rs. 25 crore. The units are set up simultaneous along with creation of common infrastructure. At least 10 acres of land is required to be arranged either by purchase or on lease for at least 50 years for setting up of Agro Processing Cluster.
- The entity’s combined net worth must be at least 1.5 times the grant-in-aid sought, with certain exceptions for Difficult Areas, SC/ST applicants, FPOs, and SHGs.
- Final term loan sanction letter from bank. Loan amount is not less than 20% of cost Project.
- Expansion and up-gradation of existing unit is not eligible for subsidy in this scheme.
- Submission of details regarding proposed 5 (at least) units are mandatory.
Applicability:
This Scheme has no specific time period. It is based on expression of interest, time to time issued by department or till the time any new policy/amendment is introduced by Government of India, whichever is later.
