The demand for biomass pellets in thermal power plants is increasing rapidly. Continuing that trend, Nabha Power Limited (NPL), located in Rajpura, Punjab, has invited a tender for the supply of agriculture residue-based non-torrefied biomass pellets.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Traders:
Must have supplied at least 40% of the quantity you are offering, in any one year during the past 3 years.
Example: If you are offering 100 tons/day (36,500 tons/year), you should have a record of supplying at least 14,600 MT in any year.
The manufacturing plant from where supply is assured must be within 250 km radius of NPL plant.
For Manufacturers:
- Minimum production capacity must be 100 tons per day.
- Net Worth should be at least ₹1 Crore as per latest audited balance sheet.
- The plant location must be within 250 km of Nabha Power Plant.
For Consortium:
- Maximum of 2 members allowed.
- Lead member must meet the financial eligibility (₹1 Cr net worth).
Product Specifications:
- Only agriculture residue-based biomass pellets are allowed (No wood pellets).
- At least 50% of the material must be made from paddy straw.
- Moisture content should not exceed 14%.
- Pellets must be sourced 100% from Punjab.
- GCV (Gross Calorific Value) range should be 2800–4000 kcal/kg.
Pricing Terms:
- Base price: ₹2.32 per megajoule (excluding transport and GST).
- Price linked to GCV of the pellets.
- If your pellet quality is below GCV 2800, price received will be reduced. Below 2000 kcal/kg, no payment will be made.
- No price escalation allowed during the 1-year contract (except changes in government taxes).
Delivery Terms:
- Suppliers must manage loading, transport, and delivery to NPL.
- Nabha Power may ask for physical copies of authorization documents.
- Online submission only through NPL’s procurement portal with Digital Signature.
