FCI Invites Online Tenders for Godown Construction in West Bengal – 15-Year Guaranteed Scheme
The Food Corporation of India (FCI), West Bengal Region, has invited online tenders under a two-bid system for the construction of godowns to meet FCI’s storage requirements. These godowns will be managed and supervised by the tenderer and offered to FCI on a guaranteed lease of 15 years.
The tenders are invited on Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) basis under two categories:
Lease Only
Lease with Services
In total, 18,390 MT storage capacity is required in the West Bengal Region for storage of food grains.
Last Date to Apply:
The last date for submission of tenders is 15th October 2025. Interested parties must apply through the GeM portal.
Key Highlights:
Minimum Godown Capacity:
5,000 MT for plain areas
1,670 MT for hilly areas
Flexibility in Smaller Capacities:
If sufficient offers are not received for the advertised capacity, offers for smaller godowns will also be considered. For instance, a 1,670 MT godown in hilly areas can be constructed in the same premises in smaller units such as:Two godowns of 1,120 MT + 550 MT (approx.)
Three godowns of 560 MT + 560 MT + 550 MT (approx.)
This flexibility ensures that even if flat land is not available, storage facilities can still be developed by constructing godowns on stepped land within the same premises, depending on site conditions.
