CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SCHEME ON AGRICULTURE AND PROCESSED FOODS EXPORT PROMOTION SCHEME OF APEDA, (2021-22 TO 2025-26)

In Series of KIP: Business and Subsidy Update, today we are going to share with you benefit of “Guidelines for Agriculture and Processed Foods Export Promotion Scheme of APEDA”.
Objective:
Introduction of planting material of new varieties is mandate of Ministry of Agriculture and their research institutions like ICAR. However in order to maintain competitive edge in the international market and to meet the requirements / tastes of international consumers, preferences of such markets need to be kept in mind. Therefore, APEDA proposes to provide assistance for such initiatives to institutions of Govt. of India/ exporters.
Pattern of Assistance:
QUALITY DEVELOPMENT:
Introduction of new plant / seed / germplasm varieties for export oriented / varieties suitable for processing for APEDA scheduled products:
The assistance will be upto 90% of the cost of the imported plant material to relevant research institutions and upto 60% to exporters subject to a ceiling of Rs. 50 lakhs.
However, aspects related to selection of plants, terms and conditions of import including clearances if any and terms and conditions of royalty, etc. shall be taken care of by the beneficiary.
Who can apply:
APEDA project can be set up by an entity/organisation such as Govt. Department / PSUs / Joint Ventures/ NGOs / Cooperates / Self Help Groups SHGs / Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) / Private Sector Companies / Partnership Firms / Proprietorship Firms etc.
Proposals The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) is an export promotion scheme run by APEDA. APEDA is an export promotion body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the promotion of Agricultural and Processed Food Products. The scheme has been open and implemented for the period of 2021-22 to 2025-26.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
The applicant shall ensure compliance of the following specific requirements relevant to the subcomponents under Quality Development:
a) The applicant has to submit a detailed business plan to avail assistance under this scheme.
b) The farm and subsequent area brought after grafting etc., has to be registered under the HortiNet/Grape Net/Traceability system of APEDA and details of production and exported quantity has to be reported at the end of the season to APEDA.
c) Fruit cover mentioned at 8(b) will include fruit care such as bagging etc.
