Project Set up under AIF
The Main feature of AIF is that it covers multiple projects that will facilitate a large number of businessmen to take the benefits of AIF.
There are almost 31 Types of Projects covered under AIF. Further, AIF has not restricted the project coverage. Considering the Project’s nature, AIF can take the coverage decision of such a project under AIF Financing Facility subject to fulfillment of the main object of the Scheme.
Let’s know the type of project coverage under AIF.
- Organic Inputs Production units such as Organic Manure, Slurry, Green Compost
- Bio Stimulant Production units such as Bio Fertilizer, Bio – Mass Fuel, Bio Energy, Bio – Gas, Compress Bio Gas
- Nursery
- Tissue culture (A technique in which fragments of plants are cultured and grown in a laboratory such as Seed Culture, Embryo Culture, Callus Culture, Organ Culture )
- Seed Processing
- Custom Hiring Center
- Infrastructure for smart and precision agriculture such as:
- Farm/Harvest Automation
- Purchase of drones, putting up specialized sensors on field, Block chain and AI (Artificial Intelligence) in agriculture
- Remote sensing and Internet of Things (IOT) such as automatic weather station, Farm advisory services through GIS
- Logistics facilities – Reefer Van & Insulated
- Assaying Units
- Supply chain services including e-marketing platforms
- Warehouse & Silos
- Cold Stores and Cold Chain
- Packaging Units
- Primary Processing activities:
There are Approx. 12 Types of Crops project has classified under Primary Processing Business Activities. Crop Wise List of Eligible Primary Processing Activities are as:

In addition to the above activities farmer groups such as FPOs, PACS, SHGs, JLGs, Cooperatives, National and State Level Federation of Co-
Operatives, FPOs federations, Federations of SHGs, National, and State Level Agencies, etc. are eligible for the following business activities:
- Hydroponic Farming (hydroponics also called aquaculture, agriculture, soilless culture, or tank farming. The cultivation of plants in nutrient-enriched water, with or without the mechanical support of an inert medium such as sand, gravel, or perlite)
- Mushroom farming
- Vertical farming (A Practice of growing produce in vertically stacked layers)
- Aeroponics farming (the growing of plants by suspending their roots in the air and spraying them with nutrient solutions)
- Poly house/
So, in the nut cell, these are the 31+ business activities that can take the facility of AIF.
Being a businessman you can plan backward and forward integration in your project and can take the maximum advantage of the AIF Facility.
