If you are planning to establish or are currently operating a warehousing and logistics business in the state of Punjab, you can leverage the “Integrated Logistics & Logistics Park Policy, 2023.“
Understanding the Warehouse Policy:
In this policy, a warehouse is defined as any premises that conform to the requirements specified by the Warehouse Development and Regulatory Authority. Warehouses are spaces where goods depositors entrust their goods to warehousemen for storage under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity. This policy aims to attract investments in cold chain facilities, silos storage, and warehousing infrastructure.
To provide warehouse services, a minimum of 3000 sq. ft. area is required at ground level as per policy.
Note: This policy’s benefits will also extend to existing units that make at least a 50% additional investment in fixed assets of the original Fixed Capital Investment (FCI).
Warehouses located in border districts, except those handling unprocessed, non-packaged, and non-value-added food grains or commodities, are entitled to a 100% exemption from Change of Land Use (CLU) and External Development Charges (EDC).
The required road width for warehouses in border areas should be 80 feet, with a minimum area of 1 hectare.
This policy is valid for 5 years from the date of notification, which is February 27, 2023, and may be extended further by the state.
