SETTING UP/UPGRADATION OF FOOD TESTING LABORATORIES
Objects:
The Scheme for setting up / up-gradation of quality control / food testing laboratories would benefit all stakeholders including domestic industry, exporters, entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, existing academic & research institutions, food standards setting bodies and Government. Food testing laboratories are the only way to ensure safety and quality of food products by Regulatory authorities, exporters, importers, processors, farmers, consumers etc.

In Series of KIP: Business and Subsidy Update, today we are going to share with you benefit of SETTING UP/UPGRADATION OF FOOD TESTING LABORATORIES (FTL) programme under the PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA
Pattern of Assistance
• 50% grants-in-aid to eligible project cost in general areas and 25% of the cost of technical civil works.
• 70% of eligible project cost in the North East States and 33% of technical civil works including Sikkim and difficult areas namely Himalayan States (i.e. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand), State notified ITDP areas, Islands and SC/ST entrepreneurs).
• 5% of the grant amount as professional fees for Programme Management Agency (PMA).
Eligible Entities:
Agro Processing Cluster project can be set up by an entity/organisation such as Govt. Department / PSUs / Joint Ventures/ NGOs / Cooperates / Self Help Groups SHGs / Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) / Private Sector Companies / Partnership Firms / Proprietorship Firms etc.
Proposals are inviting from prospective entrepreneur under the PMKSY for setting up infrastructure projects in food processing sector as per the scheme guideline dated 8Th June 2022 and the last date for submitting application through online on 22nd November 2023. No physical mode for submission of proposal shall be accepted.
Eligible Criteria:
• Detailed project report clearly indicating the total project cost
• Sanction letter of term loan from bank / financial institutions , if any
• Certificate of incorporation/registration of the organization, Memorandum and Articles of Association and Bye laws of the society (if applicable)/ partnership deed etc. Bio-data/background of the office bearers/promoters of the organization
• Blue Print of the laboratory building Plan
• Item wise and cost wise details of Technical civil works envisaged duly certified by Chartered Engineer (Civil).
• Item wise and cost wise details of lab equipments envisaged duly supported by quotations. In case of up-gradation of lab, list of existing lab equipments with complete details are also to be furnished.
