Indore’s New 15 TPD Compressed Bio Gas Initiative
Indore, consistently recognized for its leadership in urban cleanliness, is taking another massive step toward sustainability. The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has officially invited tenders for a pioneering project that aims to transform sewage treatment plant (STP) sludge into clean energy.
- Under the guidelines of AMRUT 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation), the IMC is seeking a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the design, construction, and commissioning of a 15 TPD (Tons Per Day) Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant.
- This facility will be located at the 245 MLD STP in Kabitkhedi, Indore.
- Rather than letting STP sludge go to waste, this plant will process it to create CBG, providing a renewable energy source and a smarter way to manage urban waste.

Key Project Details
- Capacity: 15 Tons Per Day (TPD).
- Technology: Based on STP sludge.
- Model: Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on a Revenue Share or Annual Premium Sharing basis.
- Timeline: The selected partner will have 18 months for construction.
- Concession Period: The agreement spans 25 years, with a possible extension of up to 5 years (maximum 30 years).
